About This Disclosure
PitPeds is an independent American Pit Bull Terrier pedigree research and historical information platform.
The information available through PitPeds is provided for pedigree research, historical preservation, educational, and informational purposes.
Pedigree records may contain information gathered from historical documents, registration records, publications, photographs, breeders, owners, researchers, users, and other available sources. Because historical records may be incomplete, conflicting, or unavailable, PitPeds cannot guarantee that every record or piece of information is complete or error-free.
This Disclosure explains important limitations regarding information and services provided through PitPeds.
Pedigree Information and Accuracy
PitPeds makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and useful pedigree records. However, pedigree information—particularly historical information—may contain errors, omissions, conflicting records, alternate spellings, disputed information, or information that cannot be independently verified.
The presence of a dog, pedigree, breeder, owner, kennel, registration number, photograph, or historical statement in the PitPeds database should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every detail is correct.
PitPeds may correct, update, annotate, or otherwise revise records when reliable information or supporting documentation becomes available.
Users who identify a possible error are encouraged to use the available correction or submission process and provide supporting documentation when possible.
Administrator Review
User-submitted dogs, pedigree information, corrections, photographs, documentation, and other submitted materials may be reviewed by a PitPeds administrator before being added to or used to modify the public database.
Administrator approval means that the submission has been accepted for use within the PitPeds database based on the information reasonably available at the time of review. Approval should not be interpreted as a legal certification, registry certification, DNA verification, or guarantee of authenticity.
Pedigree Analysis and Estimated Contributions
PitPeds may provide pedigree analysis features that identify repeated ancestors, ancestor appearances, estimated pedigree contributions, pedigree concentration, and similar information calculated from known pedigree positions.
These calculations are pedigree-based estimates only. They are not DNA tests, genetic test results, laboratory analyses, or measurements of the actual genetic material inherited by an individual dog.
An estimated pedigree contribution should not be interpreted as proof that a dog inherited a particular percentage of DNA, physical traits, temperament, working ability, health characteristics, or other genetic characteristics from a particular ancestor.
No Veterinary, Genetic, or Breeding Advice
PitPeds provides pedigree and historical information for research and informational purposes.
Nothing provided through PitPeds should be considered veterinary, medical, genetic, breeding, reproductive, legal, or other professional advice.
Breeding decisions, health decisions, genetic testing decisions, and other decisions concerning an individual dog remain the responsibility of the dog owner, breeder, or other responsible person. Appropriate qualified professionals should be consulted when professional advice is needed.
Registries, Kennels, Breeders, Owners, and Third Parties
PitPeds may identify or reference dog registries, kennels, breeders, owners, handlers, historical organizations, publications, websites, or other third parties when that information is relevant to a pedigree or historical record.
Unless PitPeds specifically states otherwise, the inclusion or mention of any registry, kennel, breeder, owner, organization, business, product, or service does not mean that the person or organization sponsors, endorses, operates, approves, or is affiliated with PitPeds.
Likewise, PitPeds does not represent that it is an official registry for the American Pit Bull Terrier or that a PitPeds pedigree record replaces official registration documentation issued by an applicable registry.
Historical Names and Information
Pedigree research may involve historical names, kennel names, breeder names, owner names, photographs, advertisements, publications, registration information, and other material associated with dogs and bloodlines from earlier periods.
The appearance of historical information within PitPeds is intended to document pedigree history and should not automatically be interpreted as a statement regarding the current ownership, operation, endorsement, reputation, or legal status of any person, kennel, organization, or business referenced in a historical record.
Trademarks and Names
Names, trademarks, logos, registry names, kennel names, and other identifying marks belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
Their appearance in PitPeds is for identification, pedigree documentation, historical reference, or informational purposes and does not by itself imply affiliation with or endorsement of PitPeds.
Commercial Relationships and Endorsements
PitPeds does not represent that a commercial relationship, sponsorship, endorsement, affiliate relationship, or other business relationship exists with a third party unless that relationship is specifically disclosed.
If PitPeds receives compensation, commissions, free products or services, sponsorship, or another material benefit in connection with an endorsement, recommendation, or promotional content, PitPeds will disclose that relationship when required.
Any such disclosure is intended to appear clearly in connection with the applicable recommendation, endorsement, advertisement, or promotional content rather than relying solely on this general Disclosure page.
Advertising and Sponsored Content
PitPeds may display advertising, sponsorships, or promotional content in the future.
When content is paid, sponsored, or otherwise requires identification as advertising, PitPeds will make reasonable efforts to identify the commercial nature of that content clearly.
The presence of advertising or sponsored content does not change the standards used by PitPeds to review or maintain pedigree records.
No Guarantee of Results
PitPeds does not guarantee that use of the platform, pedigree information, pedigree analysis, membership features, or other PitPeds services will produce any particular breeding, showing, working, health, financial, or other result.
Decisions made using information obtained through PitPeds remain the responsibility of the person making those decisions.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PitPeds is not responsible for losses, disputes, damages, or other consequences resulting from reliance on inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, disputed, or user-submitted pedigree or historical information.
Nothing in this Disclosure is intended to exclude or limit any responsibility or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Changes to This Disclosure
PitPeds may update this Disclaimer & Legal Disclosure as the platform, its features, or applicable requirements change.
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
