Public Pedigree Information
PitPeds is a pedigree research database. Information submitted for inclusion in a dog or pedigree record may be displayed publicly after review and approval by a PitPeds administrator.
Public pedigree records may include information such as dog names, pedigrees, bloodlines, registration information, breeders, owners, kennels, photographs, historical information, and other information relevant to documenting the history of the dog or bloodline.
Information submitted as supporting documentation does not automatically become public. PitPeds may use supporting records to verify pedigree information without publishing the original document.
Private Account Information
Personal account information, including account email addresses, passwords, payment-related account information, and other information collected specifically for account administration, is not displayed as part of the public pedigree database unless the user intentionally submits that information for public display.
Payments and PayPal
PitPeds uses PayPal to process membership payments. PitPeds does not directly store your complete credit card, debit card, or bank account information.
When you purchase a membership, PayPal processes the payment and may provide PitPeds with information necessary to manage your membership, such as your PayPal account identifier, subscription identifier, payment status, subscription status, and transaction-related information.
PayPal’s collection and use of your information is governed by PayPal’s own privacy policies.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
PitPeds and services used by PitPeds may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for website functionality, account sessions, security, fraud prevention, preferences, and normal website operation.
Third-party services used by the website may also set cookies according to their own policies.
How We Share Information
PitPeds does not sell your personal information.
Information may be shared with service providers when necessary to operate the website and provide PitPeds services. These may include website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, security, spam prevention, and other technical services.
PitPeds may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, court orders, protect the rights or safety of PitPeds or others, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the security and integrity of the platform.
Data Retention
PitPeds may retain account, membership, submission, administrative, and transaction records for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, maintain accurate historical records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Because PitPeds is intended to preserve historical pedigree information, approved dog and pedigree records may remain in the database even if the account that originally submitted the information is later closed.
Your Choices and Rights
You may contact PitPeds to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, subject to applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping requirements.
Requests involving public pedigree information will be evaluated separately from private account information. Because PitPeds maintains a historical pedigree database, removal of an account does not necessarily require removal of accurate historical pedigree records.
You may also submit corrections when information contained in a pedigree record is inaccurate. Corrections may require administrator review and supporting documentation before changes are made.
Data Security
PitPeds uses reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information and maintain the security of the platform.
However, no website, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and should notify PitPeds if they believe their account has been accessed without authorization.
Children’s Privacy
PitPeds is not intended for children under 13 years of age. PitPeds does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If PitPeds becomes aware that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without appropriate authorization, reasonable steps will be taken to remove that information.
Third-Party Services
PitPeds may rely on third-party providers for services such as website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, security, and other website functions.
Those providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms. PitPeds is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that are not controlled by PitPeds.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
PitPeds may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform, its services, or applicable requirements change.
When this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of PitPeds after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy.
Contact PitPeds
Questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or personal information may be submitted through the PitPeds Contact page.
When contacting PitPeds regarding an account or privacy request, you may be asked to provide information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect the account from unauthorized requests.
